The contemporary position of the artsit

Difficult, very difficult. Between constraints and requirements of the official « art market » the networks often protected of the official cultural institutions and the considerable widening of creative experiences town hall wise, the artist’s position becomes very tricky. I often talked about all this. Embarrassement or silence , sometimes anger were what really came out of those discussions.
I chose to give priority to the freedom of creation and opne relationship refusing any compulsury lowbows or too complicated procedures.

My purpouse is in this chapter to talk largely of the thought arising from my own experience, of my economical and psycho sociological cultures and the following of media developpments (newspapers, some tv channels including the basic popular ones) concerning the evolution of our society.
I am not an artist in an irony tower. Rare are the artists who talk openly, freely about what they do or about what they think of our society, about their political opinions.
The ones firmly set up seem to say things with relatively more freedom.
I feel that in general all of art’s very conceptual developments rarely have a political impact but nonetheless art-work can be highly rated and even really promoted and I wonder what to think when I hear the comments made even by people meant to be knowledgeable in art !
Is it for a kind of dangerous compromise ? It seems to me that in 2008 the State encourages that way of thinking hesitant on the styme and the questions to takle right now on this website I give myself a moment’s thought as well as time to listen to the reactions concerning the site and to the adopted approach.
