Exhibitions together wih open day events are the high moments when showing one’s work to the public. The web site adds beautifully to all this even if the encounter for real with the sculptures is missing.
I really started doing exhibitions after 15 years of wood sculptures. It was the time i took to really feel I was a sculptor.
I don’t want to do a list of all the exhibitions I took part in. I just mention the ones that gave to the public and myself a particular artistic dimension.
Couture sur Loir
About 20 sculptures, big ones, set out in « the home » of Ronsard « la grange de la Possonière » in Couture sur Loir.
The evening before the exhibitions, the organizers and people who took part in the preparation, after a good dinner and Loire valley wines, are invited to see the sculptures in the home which is actually a barn. The lights are put on, a long silence, every body is impressed by the sculptures connected with no separation in the available space.
Bueil en Touraine
A beautiful collegiale church has two areas : the church still in use that we reach through an open space of 250m2. With a friend painter we did an exhibition there, satisfied by the interaction, « dialogue » both of our work had. We discovered while we were there that this hall could also be used as a place for lively talks and demonstrations !
Some sculptures were put away, by surprise or for precaution, with only small damages done.
But the satisfaction of being there was by far stronger !
